Times & Dates

  • 25man Raids are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8pm until 11pm Hawaii Standard Time. This means that it is 10pm until 1am (server) Pacific Standard Time or 11pm until 2am (server) Pacific Daylight Time.

General Raid Requirements

  • Raiders are responsible for reading and understanding the loot rules before a raid begins.
  • All raiders are responsible for showing up fully prepared. That means you have sufficient reagents, ammo, potions etc. in your bags so that you don't need to hearth mid-way through our raid to resupply. Remember to repair before the raid begins.
  • A minimal number of downloads are required to raid with GNM. Links to the files and programs you will need are conveniently found on our download links page.
  • Ventrilo and a working microphone are required - no exceptions!
  • If you know in advance that you will be late or unable to make a raid, please post about it in our MIA Forum. Your kokua will help us plan for absences in advance. Thanks!

What do we expect from our raiders?

  • Raiders are guild members who have shown an interest in raiding and have agreed to spec for PvE and attend a minimum numbers of raids per month. In exchange for this agreement, Raiders get invited to raids first. Raiding is a group effort, and committed raid is a successful raid!
  • Anyone can apply to be a raider. However, Raiders must also have sufficient gear to be useful in the instances we are clearing. We want to get as many people into the raid as we can, but if you just dinged 80 and are wearing all greens, you might have to run 10 man instances a few times or grind out some gear from heroic 5man instances before you will be considered.
  • Raiders are expected to show up to the raid with the right talents (PvE). Please don't show up to the raid in your PvP spec and expect to slide by as that gimps the raid. Even with dual-specs, people can and do respec weekly. (That's what daily quests are for!)
  • Raiders need to maintain a 50% attendance rate. Currently, that means you must make at least 4 raids per month. If you need to be gone longer than one week out of the month, talk to an officer.
  • Raiders need to be able to maintain a certain level of performance within their class to keep their guaranteed raid spot. This standard is arbitrary, but based on a player's relative performance. If a player is greatly under-performing compared to other similarly geared players, we'll try to work with them first before replacing them. Nevertheless, performance still matters so learn to play! Note: please don't feel like you're constantly under review. You're not. However, if you constantly and consistently find yourself dead within a minute of the fight starting, or you're always dead last in healing or DPS, please take it upon yourself to figure out why that is so before we have to.

Raid Invite Procedures

  • We start raid invites at 7:30 pm HST. Raiders must be on their mains and ready to pull at 8:00; not on alts, or in battlegrounds.
  • Anyone who is a Raider will be automatically invited to the raid. If more than 25 are online, we will invite everyone even if it initially overfills the raid so we can see who is available.
  • At 8:00 pm HST, if there are still open raid slots, then we will fill them with our general membership (casual raiders).
  • Once everyone is invited, the raid leaders will look at class makeup and try to create optimal groups for the night's encounters. At this point, extra raiders will be given the option to volunteer to sit out for full dkp.
  • If no one volunteers, we will have the extra classes /roll (or agree on a rotation) to see who sits out for the night.
  • Raiders who are sitting out are considered "On Deck" and need to remain available until the end of the raid in order to receive DKP for the night. Players who are "On Deck" do not need to stay online, but they should be available in case they are needed. "On Deck" players should leave their contact info with the raid leaders before logging out. Additionally, logging out near the instance portal is also greatly appreciated as it speeds things up if we need to get you into the raid.
  • Unless a raid is cancelled in advance (this will be noted by marking it as cancelled on the in-game calendar), attendance is mandatory to receive DKP. This means, even if the raid is cancelled immediately after attendance is taken, you will not receive DKP if you are not present.

Raid Conduct

  • All guild members are expected to treat each other with aloha. This is doubly true in raids where tempers can run high.
  • The middle of the raid is not the time to be arguing. If the raid leaders ask you to do something you disagree with, please just play along and bring it up after the raid. You will be heard, but at the appropriate time.
  • Don't be a loot whore! While we use DKP to distribute loot, we generally don't restrict you in how you use your points. As such, it would be extremely helpful to think of loot in terms of "raid progression." Meaning, you might have the DKP to get your second or even third set of tier gear, but would it kill you to pass on bidding if we have 2 newer raiders wearing low ilvl gear in the raid? Remember, your off-spec toys might be someone else's raid-spec gear, and boosting their raid effectiveness benefits you as well. Be polite about it! We won't stop you from bidding, but be aware of how your actions make you look. No one likes a selfish raider.

Mains vs. Alts

In order to progress quicker, we ask that people raid on their mains only. The sole exception to this rule is if the raid is short on certain classes of characters. If this occurs, the raid leaders might ask player alts to join the raid for full DKP applied to their mains. Alts cannot bid on any loot unless all of the mains pass.
