Recruitment
From Gin no Mikazuki

Membership Policy
Gin no Mikazuki has a very informal recruiting policy. We're a Hawaii-based guild that operates on Hawaiian Standard Time, not server time. (Hawaii does not observe Daylight Saving Time, so it is 2 hours behind in the winter, and 3 hours behind in the summer.) As there is no official Hawaiian-time server, we welcome most players and transfers who are simply interested in hanging out with a Hawaii crowd on a Hawaii schedule. (Most of the players in guild live in Hawaii and know each other in real life.) If you are a Hawaii player or are interested in joining a guild that raids late at night, please contact one of the guild officers in-game and they will send you a link to our application form. Make sure that you have read and understand our guild etiquette web page before applying. There are no level or gear requirements to join Gin no Mikazuki, however, those of you who wish to raid will need to attain a minimum level of gear before you will be considered for an open raid spot.
All applications are kept confidential, and applicants should receive a response within a few days.

Applying For a Raid Spot
Successful raiding requires a combination of commitment, gear and skill. In a perfect world, we would be able to accept any skilled, willing player into our raid. Unfortunately, the reality of the game is that your gear directly relates to your raid viability, and we must ask that any serious applicant have at least enough gear to make yourself immediately useful in our raid. While we sometimes organize older content runs for fun, we generally out-gear both those instances and no longer run them (unless under special circumstances). Your gear must be on the level! Additionally, Raiders are expected maintain a basic level of attendance, spec appropriately, and be on time. Check out our raid information page for more details on becoming a raider, and our loot rules page to see how we divvy up the phat purplez.
About Tichondrius
Tichondrius (PvP) was one of the original release servers, and as such has a very mature (read: progressed) population. You typically see a lot of characters with full epic gear on Tichondrius walking around. Many people on Tichondrius have been playing for a very long time! The server itself is very balanced with a population of about 20,000 characters and a close Alliance to Horde ratio. For Arena nuts, it is also arguably the most competitive PvP server in the most competitive battle group (Bloodlust/BG9). As far as raiding goes, the Horde currently lead the Alliance in raid progression, but we are very close. It's a very active server, and very fun!

Where are you from? Honolulu, Hawaii
What is your age? I'm 36 years young.
Do you know any members in Gin no Mikazuki? If so, how do you know them? I know Dragonzakura, Sogekihei and Aarynn from Hawaii Raceway Park where we used to race. I know Tnerbo from the old Speedhawaii message boards. I met Arcaned from back when I used to work at Hypersports Racing. Miekochan and I were in a fraternity together called Kappa Epsilon Theta (KEO). Years ago, Oniyuri, Zyratek, Zax and I were all on a local Hawaii BBS called "Interact!"
Are you from, or do you have any connection to Hawaii? Born on Kauai, but moved to Oahu in 1985. I graduated from MPI in 1989!
Tell us more about your character's history and explain your talent choices: I originally had a Night Elf priest, but re-rolled Draenei to get Fear Ward (this was before everyone got the talent.) I'm currently shadow with all PvE talent choices. When I get more +hit I'd like to remove some points from shadow focus and get the Silence back. As for gear, I started out with the crafted tailoring items, but have since replace them with gear that has more stats. I sacrificed a little bit of damage, but my overall survivability is up. Staying alive = the best DPS!
What are your previous guilds, and why did you leave them? I leveled to 60 with Eh Howzit Brah, but they were a non-raiding guild. I wanted to raid, so I applied elsewhere and we parted on good terms. I joined Echo Corporation in the spring of 2006, but my work schedule is changing to where I cannot make their raid times anymore so I am looking for a new guild again.
What are your views on raiding? If applying for a raid spot, why should we choose you? I live to raid. I love the epic feel of the encounters, and I'm very patient. I show up to raids regularly, and am always prepared. I make sure that I'm familiar with boss strategies ahead of time. I'm also fine with sitting out on nights we are full or need to stack groups.
Previous Raid Experience: I've killed every single raid boss encounter in Vanilla WoW with the sole exception of Maws. (No one wanted to do that quest chain with me.) In BC, I've cleared Gruul's, Mag, SSC, The Eye and Hyjal. Up to Rage Winterchill in Hyjal.
Do you have any references we can contact about your previous raid performance? You can contact Tef on Tichondrius or Tensen on Dragonmaw if you want to know how I roll.
What are your views on PvP? Are you interested in joining one of our Arena teams? Ahh PvP. I managed to get to 1300 rating with my old 3's team. =/
Tell us a bit about yourself on a personal level. Who are you, really? I'm into a lot of things: cars, comic books, slam poetry, theater, sailing, alternative music (former college radio deejay), Star Wars. I like to write and was one of the founders of Metroblogging Hawaii. I'm currently the owner of a freelance design company called Zephyr Design. Most rebellious moment: I once threw a hot dog at Morrissey when he was in concert at Aloha Tower. He kept the crowd waiting for three hours in protest of the hotdog concession stand. (He's a famous vegetarian.) Most awesome moment: I once painted my car with chalkboard paint. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a391/MrWendell/chalk01.jpg
If you are applying for a raid spot, we would like to see you play a few times before making a decision. Is this OK with you? Of course! Let me know.
